Robyn Pauhl

Creative Director & Vocalist

Robyn Pauhl has over twenty years of performing experience, singing professionally since the age of eleven. She has opened shows for U.S. country stars George Jones at Lulu's in Kitchener, Loretta Lynn at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton and the International Center in Toronto. As well as for some eminent Canadian country acts such as, Michelle Wright, Prairie Oyster, Jason McCoy, Beverly Mahood, Jim Witter, jazz artist Carol Wellsman, and has performed in concert with world renowned jazz bassist, Dave Holland.

 

An enthralling performer, Robyn has a voice that has enough power and range to make it worth remarking on. Robyn sounds as if her passion could swallow the world. What lifts her performances miles above nostalgia is that she delivers her feelings with astonishing power and ebullience. One can see the emotional intensity that Robyn brings to everything she sings. There is a sincerity in her singing that pierces her audiences, spurring an immediate connection with her listeners.

 

She has been seen coast to coast, appearing on everything from local cable shows to highly rated television news programs such as, Canada AM, Breakfast Television and Global News. She has been featured on the cover of the Hamilton Magazine and a two page spread in Hmm...The Hamilton Men's Magazine.

 

In 2005, Robyn graduated with honours from the Humber College Music Program in Toronto, ON. She attained knowledge in theory, composition and arranging for string sections, horns, and big bands. She has thirteen years of teaching experience in vocal, theory, and piano. 

 

She is the winner of The 2009 Hamilton Music Award for People's Choice Independent Music Teacher of the Year and works with artists on vocal pre-production at her studio.

 

Robyn's lastest single was released, September 2013. The new material shows Robyn turn her passions back to country music. She produced and wrote her latest song, "All That I Want", with her eight year old student, Alyssa West! The single was engineered and co-produced with husband, Justin Koop at B Town Sound in Burlington,

Robyn is the Studio & Event Manager at B Town Sound. She successfully spearheaded the event side of the business and is now working with artists to help develop their careers with the launch of A.D.D. | The Artist Development Division, which encourages, inspires, and motivates musicians. In 2014 Party Like A Pop Star was developed with her partner Amber Ruthart as a sister company of the studio and is now in full swing with recording and dance parties for kids and teens. February 2016, Robyn and Justin welcomed their first child in addition to Justin's two other children. Amber Ruthart

Host & Vocalist

Amber Ruthart has over twenty years of teaching, mentoring, and performance experience, since she started vocal and stage training at thirteen.  She has studied vocal production with local teachers including, Susan Gudgeon, Lita Classen as well as Laura Pudwell of Tafelmusik.  She was the youngest member to ever be in the chorus at Opera Hamilton and has been featured as soloist for church and classical concerts.  

 

A honey sweet rich voice that has the capability of filling the theatre without use of microphones, Amber has performed with local theatres and various venues across the Greater Toronto area from Liberty Grand to Hamilton Place. Her ability to fill entire rooms with her powerful voice has given her a well known reputable standing as a solo singer.  Her stage presence is that off comfort and ease as she plays out her role to its entirety.

 

Amber has been travelling the country in search of the latest and most modern vocal production. She is an official ViP (Vocology in Practice) Instructor. This elite group of global voice professionals have provided Amber the tools to assist her clients in many ways. Amber has attended VocalizeU intensives including, seminars with vocologist Ingo Titze, a vocal scientist and executive director of the National Center for Voice and Speech at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.  Her search has also lead her to New York City to study with Wendy Parr, a Grammy Award Winning Songwriter and mentor.   Ambers most recent discovery took her on a journey LA to study with Dave Stroud, an American vocal coach, vocal educator, and lecturer whose clients include, Justin Bieber, Jordin Sparks, Adam Lambert, Natasha Bedingfield, Cody Simpson, Daniel Bedingfield, and more.  Amber has also met with A&R executive Big Billy Clark of Island Def Jam and Sony Music; Ben Bram, arranger for Pentatonix, Pitch Perfect 1 & 2 and has networked with various other vocal teachers around the world..

 

Amber is a graduate of the Second City improv course and can be seen at Comedy Bar, Social Capital Theatre and other venues providing laughs by using improv and sketch skills. Her adult show “Almost Late Night” is run monthly at 120 Diner on Church Street. Here you can find her interviewing artists and running comedy for a spoof show based on late night television.

 

Amber also works with her Husband “ReptileRob” at SafariScience (an entertainment company since 2003). She performs in a bi-weekly Live Show featuring guests and sketch.  She has been in numerous festivals and events across Southern Ontario playing the role of Amphibian Amber on stages for children’s entertainment as well as countless private functions.   

 

As a musician and children’s entertainer, Amber has taught music in studios, theatres, and preschools for the past fifteen years.  She has lead adult group vocal workshops, Glee, private in home children's classes, and many more educational lessons in various venues. She has an uncanny ability to bring across vocal methodology in a way people can connect with.


Her experience with music, stage, and industry allows her to bring a unique atmosphere to Party like A PopStar. Amber knows how to work with younger to older children to bring about a fun time and is looking forward to sharing her positive attitude and abilities with you.  You can find our more about Amber on her website:  www.amberjane.ca

Michelle Wagman

Host & Vocalist

Michelle has been singing since she could talk, and always had a love of performing. She began vocal training at a young age, and is now fortunate enough to nurture and support young talent. Michelle attended the prestigious Sheridan Music Theatre Performance Program, where she studied all aspects of singing, acting and dancing. She was able to learn from the best in the business, and received the tools to become a professional performer.


She then went on to perform on stages across the country, and continues to do so. Michelle is also lucky enough to portray her favourite Disney Princesses for shows and events with Canada’s leading princess company. It is a dream come true to bring these beloved characters to life.


Michelle also developed “Music With Miss Michelle” which brings music and movement to baby and toddler musicians. She is currently working on her second full length cd, with original material. She teaches early childhood music education and private vocal lessons for children of all ages.
